What inspired us to create Delve Deck Beach Balls
In early 2018, Boredwalk's social media engagement began to decline despite active posting across platforms. Realizing that product photos weren't enough to foster community, we started posting a Question of the Day, every day, for five years—through weekends, holidays, and pandemics.
We didn't invent Question of the Day posts, but we focused on more thoughtful, engaging questions.
This approach made many customers feel deeply connected to us, highlighting how they've "never felt so seen by a brand."
That's because we're not just "a brand". My co-founder (and wife) Meredith and I are real people, with real problems and real curiosities about the world we live in. We design and make products we wish existed, and ask questions we would like the answers to.
As it turns out, a lot of folks share these same curiosities but lack the prompts to ask the other people in their lives questions that can lead to deeper understanding or self-examination when the opportunities to do so arise.

We decided to create a beach ball series for the Delve Deck product line because our one lament about our card decks is that they aren't water-proof. We live in Southern California and often spend time in pools or playing out doors. We wanted an option to bring conversation starters everywhere, even in pools and hot tubs. We created our beach ball series to ensure great conversations could be part of your summer experience, even if your plans include pool days!
