🤨 Sounds sinister, but ok.

IT'S NATIONAL NAME YOUR POISON DAY

I've most often heard "pick your poison" as a bartender's euphemism for asking what you want to drink, but it can also refer to picking between two unsavory options. Sounds kinda like my morning at the polling booth voting* in the California primary.

Was I excited for any of the candidates? Absolutely not. For me, voting is about spending hours researching every name on the ballot via Google and then picking the least offensive options.

I guess it's not surprising the candidates leave a lot to be desired. It's not like I'm desperate to run for comptroller. I am not even sure I know what exactly a comptroller does.

* None of this is to say you should not vote. You should! Voting is what stands between the barely mediocre status quo and an utterly out of control raging dumpster fire. Pick your poison, friends!

That was disappointing gif

Me every time I leave a polling place.
