Well I'm back from "vacation," and by "vacation" I mean traveling while trying to put out fires at Boredwalk remotely and dealing with my own unending string of travel misfortunes.

Boredwalk co-founder Meredith and I just got home from our epic cross-country road trip last night — which was more of a roving work-cation than a true VAcation — and after a long day of driving through increasingly congested Los Angeles area traffic (still not as bad as DC's!), there are few things as comforting as elbow pasta swimming in melty, cheesy goodness

Happy National Pecan Pie Day! Pecan pie just so happens to be my favorite of all pies, so this is very exciting for me. I'm writing this at the tail end of my weeks-long cross-country road trip, though, so it remains to be seen if I can get some enterprising baker in Truckee, California to whip up a plant-based version for me. If not, I guess I have a weekend kitchen project waiting for me at home!

Happy National Eat Beans Day! Not only will eating beans provide you with lots of nutrients ahead of tomorrow's Independence Day gluttony, it will also necessitate needing a wider berth than usual to avoid offending fellow cookout attendees. I guess it's good these festivities are typically held outdoors! A perfect occasion to rock our Personal Space tee.

Happy National Food Truck Day! Boredwalk co-founder Meredith and I celebrated by swinging by the Roots & Leaves food truck in Avon, North Carolina this morning for some coffee and delicious cinnamon rolls before hitting the road to start winding our way back to Los Angeles.

I know you've been waiting all year to celebrate this boldly-flavored occasion, but not so fast — adding to the thrills of June 28th are National Parchment Day, National Logistics Day, and National Insurance Awareness Day.
