😇 Being good might get you to heaven, but...

BEING A TROUBLEMAKER WILL TAKE YOU EVERYWHERE ELSE 😈

It's been a real devil of a year, so why not make a little art on the theme? Today happens to be National When Pigs Fly Day, an occasion described as "a day to imagine a future that may seem impossible or absurd and take small steps towards making it happen."

If you've been following Boredwalk for a minute, you know what we think about optimism; it certainly has its place, but usually that place is in the bottom of a long-forgotten broom closet. The only thing I can foresee taking flight is our little devil in the new art up top. Maybe your luck will be better than mine, though. I sure hope so!
Did I mention I am going straight to hell gif

Want to kick off your weekend with a few historical facts and famous birthdays from September 9ths of yore? Of course you do!

• Born on this day: actor/comedian/filmmaker Adam Sandler (1966), author Leo Tolstoy (1828), actress Michelle Williams (1980), singer/songwriter Otis Redding (1941), jazz drummer/bandleader Elvin Jones (1927), Duke of Hazzard Tom Wopat (1951), and foppish cinematic heartthrob Hugh Grant (1960)

• On this day in 1776 Congress officially changed the country's name from United Colonies to the United States of America. Brevity may be the soul of wit, but apparently not of geopolitical place names. Get to the point, Founding Fools!

On this day in 1850 California became the 31st US state.
Finally, on this day in 1956 Elvis Presley appeared on Ed Sullivan's show and scandalized everyone with his suggestive hip swivels.

OK, that's it for this week! We'll be back here in your inbox on Monday with a fresh email and (hopefully) a fresh customer Q&A. If you'd like to be featured in an upcoming email reply to this and let us know!

Peace, love, and going places,
