🍂 Fall chill in the air? Guess it's time to...

...ZIP IT UP!

How are you? How was your weekend? I know this is normally where I'd wish you a Happy [INSERT RANDOM HOLIDAY HERE] Day, but good grief, is September 27th phoning it in. To the point where I don't even think it's worth mentioning today's lesser holidays to make fun of them. (Yes, they are THAT lame.)

Jimmy Fallon gets it.

Jimmy gets it.

This is right about when someone else reading this (not you; you're cool) will get incensed, click "reply," and fire off an email yelling at me about how Ancestor Appreciation Day is not lame and is very worthy of celebration. Yeah, well, riddle me this: if they're so great, how come they're dead?

Thankfully all is not lost: Wednesday and Friday both have MUCH better holidays to offer us later this week, and Friday in particular is going to be a smashing lead-in to the weekend, as it will officially mark the start of both Spooky Season AND our zip-up hoodie flash sale!

What better way to prepare for cooler weather than with a soft & cozy zip-up hoodie featuring some of Boredwalk's most popular designs? Keep an eye out here in your inbox Friday for the announcement!

Alright, birthday time! Today we are honoring:

Actor, oatmeal fan, and diabetes educator Wilford Brimley, born this day in 1934! Mr. Brimley established himself as an accomplished character actor following his service in the US Marine Corps in such films as The China Syndrome, The Thing, The Natural, and Cocoon

Actor and singer Michael Lee "Meat Loaf" Aday, born this day in 1947! Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell trilogy of albums (released in 1977, 1993, and 2006) have sold over 65 million copies worldwide, but one of his earliest claims to fame was playing the roles of Eddie and Dr. Everett Scott in the original stage and film productions of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in 1974 and 1975.

Comedian, podcaster, actor, writer, and musician Marc Maron, born this day in 1963! Mr. Maron's stand-up specials are great, and if you haven't seen him in Netflix's GLOW yet, you should check it out.

Musician, actor, writer, director, and comedian Carrie Brownstein, born this day in 1974! Ms Brownstein is a founding member of seminal Portland-based rock band Sleater-Kinney, indie rock supergroup Wild Flag, and one-half of the creative duo behind hit IFC comedy sketch show Portlandia. She is very much rock 'n' roll fun.

Finally, Canadian pop-punk icon Avril Lavigne was born this day in 1984! Ms Lavigne's 2002 debut album Let Go is the best-selling album of the 21st century by a Canadian artist. Her subsequent two albums were similarly successful, and she has since branched out into acting work, doing voice acting in 2006 animated feature Over The Hedge and 2006 live action film Fast Food Nation
