😟 If worrying about it hasn't worked...

...HERE'S ANOTHER POINTLESS

⬆️ SUGGESTION! ⬆️

Happy National Hermit Day! If you prefer your own company to the company of others, today is about celebrating you.

In fact, maybe you don't even need to run from your problems, you lucky so-and-so — you're avoiding people, and that's more than half the battle! Sure, climate change will get us all eventually and we're all stuck on our doomed blue marble floating through space, but why face what troubles you now when you can avoid it with some clever escapism?

People are generally disappointing

Disappointing and riddled with problems; these are facts!

As is our tradition, let's have some birthday cake for a few folks born on October 29ths past:

Actress Winona "Ryder" Laura Horowitz was born on this day in 1971! Having started her film career in 1986 with teen flick Lucas, Ryder has gone on to star in dozens of films we know and love, including Edward Scissorhands, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Reality Bites, Beetlejuice, and Heathers. Ryder has also been open about her struggles with anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Celebrities: they're just like us!

Painter, art instructor, TV host, and human Quaalude Robert Norman Ross was born on this day in 1942! His instructional series, The Joy of Painting, aired from 1983-1994 on PBS, treating us all to his creation of happy little trees and virtual visits with his squirrel buddies. Ross is not only a very user-friendly art teacher, but his soothing cadence is perfect background noise for drifting off to dreamland. If you struggle with insomnia like me and Winona give it a shot!

Still no new podcast this week, I'm afraid. We're still working on hiring (current open roles here, if you're in the Los Angeles area and looking to make a career change) and trying to prioritize getting more new art done by the end of the year!

As you can see up top, we did finish a new piece of art in the last few days — both I and Boredwalk co-founder Matt are pretty chuffed with how it turned out (hopefully you are, too!) — and we have several more in the works. We do have some podcast episodes already recorded, so more will be coming out as soon as we can free ourselves up to do some editing. In the meantime, we'll try to keep you amused with historic trivia, new art, and delightful finds from around the web!

We'll be back here in your inbox next week with (hopefully) a fresh Boredwalk Community Q&A with a fan just like you! We'll also have another new product to share — yay! Until then...

Peace, love, and solitude,

Meredith
