INTERNATIONAL BAT APPRECIATION DAY!
Just in time for this past weekend's premier of Renfield, it's a perfect day to honor nature's cutest little goths! Here are a few fun things you may not know about them:
• There are over 1,400 different bat species and they play an important role in the ecosystem by controlling pests, fertilizing land, and pollinating fruit and flowers
• The oldest confirmed species of bat, Onychonycteris, is believed to have lived in the Eocene period, which was over 52 million years ago
• A single brown bat can eat around 1,200 mosquitoes in one hour (yes, bat friend, you can sit with us)!
Pardon me, gonna drop out of society to live among the bats.
