šŸ” Of all the the things I've lost...

I MISS MY SOCKS THE LEAST

It's National Lost Sock Memorial Day! I have no real concern for misplaced socks because years ago I started buying identical socks so losing a single sock would never be noticed. A handy life hack if you also don't care much about socks.

It's also National Sleepover Day, which I guess is typically associated with being a kid, but I've always found the grown up version more fun since there's cocktails and no mean girls around to make fun of how I look when I wake up in the morning.

Because we live in a relentless hell-world, Boredwalk's job is not only to please humans, but also to please algorithms on social networks.

Here's a not-so-fun fact: because we've run ads via our existing social media accounts, those same networks limit the views our posts get when we don't pay for them. Fun times!

To solve this problem we now have secondary accounts on TikTok and Instagram (Sidebar: I hate my job. Not the writing fun emails for you part; the figuring out workarounds for the new ways Big Tech finds to thwart even the tiniest and most fleeting of successes part). Please follow those too? We promise fun new entertainment on the new accounts (and to continue delivering OG entertainment on our existing accounts).

In other news, we have an updated the stockists page on our website. Shop local and support Boredwalk! We especially want to invite you to shop with our newest retailer, Attic Salt, particularly because they have an exclusive collection of some of your favorite Boredwalk Tweets on shirts. They are the ONLY place to buy those particular shirts this summer, so you'll definitely want to pay them a visit if you've got a location near you and missed out on some of our limited drops earlier in the year!

Want a few May 9th famous birthdays and historical facts? I hope so, because you're gettin' some regardless!

ā€¢ Born on this day: Actress Rosario Dawson (1979), Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan (1962), rapper/Boredwalk co-founder Matt's favorite Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah (1970), and Peter Pan author J.M. Barrie (1860).

ā€¢ It was on this day in 1960 that the US Food and Drug Administration approved the first birth control pills.

ā€¢ Finally, it was on this day in 1925 that rum runners were chased by the Coast Guard and were forced to dump 100 cases of liquor in the Delaware River as part of the Rum War between smugglers and the Coast Guard. After dumping the booze the smugglers managed to escape the Coast Guard. Prohibition: what a great use of time and tax dollars, amirite?

Alrighty! Normally this is when I'd encourage you to scroll on down to learn about a fellow Boredwalk fan via our weekly Q&A segment, but sadly we ran out of volunteers (or are waiting for volunteers to get back to use with their photos and answers, but it amounts to the same result). If you'd like to be featured in our next Monday Q&A segment, reply to this email and let me know!

We'll be back in your inbox on Wednesday morning with links to fun distractions! If you're in a shopping mood, be sure to use the code YAY10 at checkout to save 10% on orders of $100 or more! Until next time...

Peace, love, and sleepovers,
