Something to look forward to (besides 🥧)?

Let's get it out of the way first, otherwise the math mob will lose their minds — Happy Pi Day! I hope your Monday is at least 3.14% better than you initially anticipated. Given how Mondays usually go, this seems moderately achievable without requiring outsize effort on your part. Let's just hope the rest of humanity cooperates.*

*It probably won't, but how else are we to get out of bed each day without the little lies we tell ourselves?

Today is also National Learn About Butterflies Day, which is a great endeavor! Leap into learning about lepidoptera, and how fleeting not only their lives can be, but our own as well. Given the current state of the world, we could all stand to live a bit more in the present, as the future isn't promised.

Finally, today is also National Potato Chip Day and National Napping Day! After a long day of consuming pie, potato chips, and knowledge regarding butterflies, I think we could all use a nap.

These two know what's up.

There are almost as many notable 3/14 babies of yore as there are decimal places in Pi, so let's have a potato chip for each of them:

• Railroad engineer Casey Jones, born this day in 1863! Mr. Jones was immortalized in The Grateful Dead's 1970 classic 'Casey Jones.'

• Cartoonist Hank Ketcham, born this day in 1920! Mr. Ketcham was nice enough to give us all Dennis The Menace before fluttering off this mortal coil.

• English actress Eleanor Bron, born this day in 1938! Ms Bron starred in The Beatles' 1965 film Help! and was name checked in my favorite Yo La Tengo song of all time, 'Tom Courtenay.'

• Theoretical physicist Albert Einstein, born this day in 1879! I don't really have anything to add about ol' Albert that hasn't already been said. But it is fitting that he was born on Pi Day!

• Today is also the birthday of NBA superstar Steph Curry (1988), actor/comedian Billy Crystal (1948), legendary music producer Quincy Jones (1933), legendary actor Michael Caine (also 1933), and gymnastics phenom Simone Biles (1997).

• Finally, today marks the DEATH days of theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking (2018) and philosopher/social critic Karl Marx (1883).

1. What's your actual day job and what's your dream day job?

I'm a hairstylist and I honestly don't know what I want to be when I grow up…

(Editor's note: at least you'll be stylishly coiffed whenever you figure it out!)

2. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?

The best advice I've gotten is "you gotta feel it to heal it" and "life is like an arrow, there's nowhere to go but forward!"

3. What experience do you most want to cross off your bucket list?

I would LOVE LOVE to travel to Scotland and Ireland. Stay in a magnificent castle and wander through halls daydreaming of a long ago time.

4. You can curse your nemesis with a minor annoyance for eternity; what do you choose?

I'd curse my nemesis with the ability to always speak the truth.

5. If you drink: what's your go to drink? If you don't drink: what's your go to dessert or snack?

My go to drink and snacks is wine and cheese with my bestie! We go to 6 Mile Creek Winery and get lost for the afternoon.

(Sounds delightful!)

6. Where can the rest of the Boredwalk community find you?

My favorite place is at home wandering my trails through the field and woods, very good for soul searching and hiding from the rest of the world!!!
