🏴 The reigning hide and seek champ is..
NONE OTHER THAN NESSIE!
Look, I know there are lots of occasions today — let's all take a moment to acknowledge Indigenous Peoples' Day and National Coming Out Day, both very worthy of our attention — but while reading up on October 11ths past, I ran across this tidbit that really captured my attention:
On this day in 1987 a 3-day hunt for proof (or disproof) of the legend of the Loch Ness Monster concluded. The hunt cost $1.6 million dollars and all they found were three sonar blips showing objects in the middle of the 754-foot deep loch. If Nessie does exist it's believed to be a prehistoric reptile and damn clever at making itself scare when it doesn't want to be seen.
Nessie clowning the fools wasting time and money on the hunt for 'em
I guess a monster hunt is at least seasonally appropriate, if fruitless. If you're looking to avoid monster run-ins, you may want to peruse our guide to vacation spots to skip according to our favorite horror movies.

She pressed the United States to join and support the United Nations and became its first delegate. She served as the first chair of the UN Commission on Human Rights and oversaw the drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Later, she chaired the John F. Kennedy administration's Presidential Commission on the Status of Women. By the time of her death, Roosevelt was regarded as "one of the most esteemed women in the world."

1. What's your biggest pet peeve?
People who wear their mask below their nose. I just...don't understand.
2. What keeps you up at night?
My anxiety! Oh, sorry, did you mean specifically? Well, wondering if having kids in a society that's failing to halt climate change is a good idea or even morally justifiable, for one...
3. What's the most useful piece of advice you've ever received?
"What other people think of you is none of your business."
4. If you could have any super power what would it be and why?
Shapeshifting! I've always wanted to be an animal, or an assortment of animals, and it would also be really cool to try different human shapes!
5. You can curse your nemesis with a minor annoyance for eternity; what do you choose?
Their favorite color is never, ever in style.
6. What experience do you most want to cross off your bucket list?
A vacation that's actually relaxing. No events, no conferences, no uncomfortable AirBnB beds, no schedule of family and friends to visit. Just lazing around. Maybe reading, maybe not. Getting food whenever. I would love to try it.
7. Clear up a misconception (about you, your job, where you are from, some other topic you know a lot about).
They/them aren't "nonbinary pronouns!" Anyone can use whatever pronouns they want! Yes, even if they're cis! Go nuts!
8. Where can the rest of the Boredwalk community find you?
I'm on Twitter as @alannaeowyn, I guess. My Etsy shop is Aries and Arachne if anyone's looking for knitwear or jewelry, especially in Pride colors.
