😺 There's only one safe way to enjoy this day! 😻
KISSING? IN THIS PLAGUE-RIDDEN CLIMATE?!
Happy National Kiss a Ginger Day! I can only assume this occasion was conceived of before we were living that pandemic life and spending our days meeting on Zoom and hiding behind masks. There are some gingers who are probably safe to pucker up to, though...
This dude will be happy to take your smooches.
Before we get to today's amusing finds from around the web, let's celebrate a couple of birthdays!
• Singer, songwriter, filmmaker, and voice actor Robert "Zombie" Bartleh Cummings, born this in 1965! Rob Zombie is a founding member of heavy metal band White Zombie and has directed films such as House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects.
• Comedian, author, and TV & radio personality Howard Allan Stern, born this day in 1954! Stern is best known for his radio show, The Howard Stern Show, which he's been hosting since 1981. He's won numerous industry awards, along with the distinction of becoming the most-fined radio host when the FCC issued fines totaling $2.5 million to station owners for Stern's content.
• Lastly, it was on this day in 1966 that Batman, starring Adam West as Batman, Burt Ward as Robin, and Cesar Romero as The Joker, debuted on ABC.
Some truly terrible famous people not worth mentioning were also born on January 12ths of yore. I won't give them any attention here, but it is interesting that so many reprobates share the same birth date. This part of the calendar is cursed. If you happen to share their birthday, I'm sorry!
Anyway, let's get to some amusing links!
1. The number one tell-tale sign of COVID? Lack of taste
Doesn't matter what kind of taste. Whether you're having difficulty detecting flavors or just filling up your latest Spotify playlist with some questionable selections, please...keep your distance.
2. Do you like witty one-liners? You're in luck, then
I mean, you probably do, since you somehow ended up on this email list. So please, enjoy the comedic stylings of Laurent Perrier!
Oh, lawyer-who-is-not-a-cat, how could we ever forget you?
Turns out his love language is words. We would be very incompatible, as mine is tacos.
5. Eyeing a sweet Boredwalk Grievance Journal? Caveat emptor!
It came to our attention recently that some no-talent hacks have tried to ride Boredwalk's coattails by selling their own version of our Grievance Journal, so I ordered a couple of them to see how they stack up; these are my findings!
OK! Hopefully these little diversions helped to brighten your day! We'll be back here in your inbox on Friday with more entertainment and Boredwalk news! Until then...
Peace, love, and ginger kisses,
Meredith
