December 16, 2021

Well that didn't go as planned...😖

We are just one week out from the last day for UPS, FedEx, and USPS to deliver holiday goodies in time for Christmas — though if you celebrate Yule and/or Kwanzaa you still have a few more days of wiggle room — and while everyone is doing their best to make delivery dates happen, we all know how the best laid plans tend to go (straight into a flaming dumpster).

If you need a last minute gift for someone, we recommend our e-gift cards. They're one size fits all and very procrastinator-friendly since they land in your inbox within minutes of ordering them. It's a Christmakwanzaayulekkah miracle!

The Boredwalk team is working their hardest to get every order out the door as fast as we possibly can, but due to shipping gremlins (probably) and our inability to bend space and time, we can't reliably guarantee delivery before Christmas at this point.

We've all been warned about porch pirates, but let's not rule out mail snatching kittens. The 2020s are wild!

Normally this is the spot in the email where we tell you what makes today so special and December 17th doesn't disappoint!

• Today we are celebrating the following occasions: National Maple Syrup Day (yum!), National Ugly Sweater Day (fun!), and Underdog Day (woohoo!). It's also National Device Appreciation Day, but I'm not sure those gadgets deserve any more of our attention. Checked your screen time report lately? Woof!

• We can give birthday shoutouts to these December 17th babies-turned-actors: Milla Jovovich (1975), Bill Pullman (1953), Eugene Levy (1946), Sarah Paulson (1974), and Giovanni Ribisi (also 1974)

• Also on this day: Classical music composer Ludwig van Beethoven was born in 1770. The first episode of The Simpsons premiered in 1989, and in 1903 Orville Wright took the Wright Flyer for its first ever flight.

If you're in a shopping mood today or this weekend (and aren't gonna yell at the Boredwalk customer service crew if an order you place today doesn't arrive by Christmas Eve), don't forget to take 10% off orders of $100 or more with the code YAY10. Also don't forget that orders of $75 or more ship for free within the US!

Alright! We'll be back in your inbox Monday with some more famous birthdays, random holidays, and other assorted entertainment!

Here's to underdogs, ugly sweaters, and maple syrup,
