There's something nice about putting down our phones and doing things with old fashioned paper and writing implements. In fact, one of the most popular practices with artists is writing "morning pages," which means grabbing a notebook and pen or pencil in the morning and just writing for a set amount of time or pages.

If you're a regular reader of our newsletter, you probably saw my mention earlier this week about the declining health of our ancient familiar Oliver. He actually passed away Tuesday night after I composed that email and we have been in mourning mode ever since.

Actually, I take that back; today is also National Ravioli Day and International Happiness Day. So here's a proposal for you: save the money you were gonna spend on that glittery overpriced rock, spend it on some ravioli, and bask in the happiness conferred by a belly full of cheese-filled pasta. BOOM. DONE. Pathetic occasion crisis averted.

Debtors who could not pay were thrown in prison or forced into slavery, so I can see how the date could have developed a reputation.
