New designs, chatting with musician Molly Lewis, and a delicious farmers market haul!

Hello, chums!

We've got a bit of a grab bag this week as we head into the holiday weekend, so let's dive in, shall we?

First, Meredith and I were feeling creative over the weekend and decided to feed ourselves with whatever the farmers market had to offer. We scored some sweet winter root veggies, including fingerling potatoes, rainbow carrots, and sweet potatoes. We roasted those with garlic, onions, salt, olive oil, thyme, and rosemary:

We also got a nice selection of red & golden baby beets (not pictured) that I roasted in foil packets with garlic, olive oil, herbs, and a splash of balsamic vinegar & lemon juice. When the guy asked if I wanted him to remove the tops with the leafy greens I told him to bite his tongue. I massaged those with some salt, lemon juice, and olive oil and then flash-fried them with some chopped up baby bok choy and garlic chips:

For dessert, I hollowed out a sugar pie pumpkin and filled the cavity with two pats of soy margarine, a quarter cup of brown sugar, and two cinnamon sticks and stuck it in the oven for an hour at 400ºF. Once it was out of the oven I spooned everything out into a bowl, mashed it into a quasi-puree, and served in a ramekin. Call it the world's laziest pumpkin pie if you'd like, but our taste buds didn't mind!

Anyway, onto the good stuff! This week we had a delightful conversation with singer/songwriter/ukulelist Molly Lewis! Molly's been active for a long time, and you've probably seen her videos on YouTube. If you haven't yet you're in for a real treat!

We chat with Molly about her music career, life as a creative professional, and talk a little shop about how to make money selling merch (including tees!) We also share her recent single 'Pantsuit Sasquatch' as the outro for the ep. Give it a listen!

Finally, in addition to our great (white) new design up top, I also had time this week to work on a new homage to both science and literary hero Kurt Vonnegut. That is one hell of a Venn diagram of awesome:

That's it for this week! To those of you who celebrate it, we wish you a very merry Christmas! For those of you who do not, enjoy the holiday weekend! We'll be back next week with a new podcast episode and (probably) some fresh designs, but until then...

Peace, love, and good cheer,

Matt
