No, you're not crazy... 😒

IT'S EVERYTHING AROUND YOU THAT'S CRAZY!

It's World Mental Health Day. If you struggle with your mental health, you're far from alone. I struggle with anxiety and depression, but in my defense (and maybe yours), the world is a depressing and anxiety-inducing place, so I guess it's to be expected.

According to the Anxiety and Depression Assocation, 17% of adults will experience depression at some point in their lives, and 18% of US adults will experience an anxiety disorder in any given year. The other 80-ish% of the population is enjoying a condition we sometimes refer to as delusion.*
I mostly cope with my depression and anxiety using humor, but cake also helps, and it is National Cake Decorating Day. I am terrible at decorating cakes, but an absolute champ at eating them, so clearly my goal today should be to brighten some cake decorator's day by buying one of their creations.

* I am definitely going to get at least one angry email from someone who doesn't appreciate this mild ribbing directed at those who are impervious to upsetting stimuli. If you don't get that this is hyperbole and feel compelled to email me to protest this joke, you may be less impervious than you think.

Alright! Still waiting for some responses from volunteers, so no new customer Q&A this week. If you'd like to be featured in an upcoming Monday email (and are a customer with some Boredwalk tees, tanks, hoodies, towels, bags, or books to show off), just reply to this and let us know, and we'll send you some fun questions to answer (along with our undying gratitude)!

We'll be back here in your inbox on Wednesday with some more random holidays to observe, historical tidbits to acknowledge, and fun links to entertaining content! Until next time...

Peace, love, and cake,

Meredith
